Robert N. Roop, P.E. - Now a Board Certified Building Inspection Engineer
July 2008 - Robert N. Roop, P.E., a licensed Professional Engineer in Rosemont, NJ has recently become one of the first engineers in the country to become a board certified Building Inspection Engineer (BIE). Building Inspection Engineering is a 50-year old specialty within the engineering community. However, only in the last year has that specialty been acknowledged with its own, unique credential.
A certified Building Inspection Engineer is technically qualified to inspect all building types including residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. It is the only accepted credential that applies to more than just homes. Some engineers may specialize in one or several building types; others do not limit their practice. However, in addition to the certification, the engineering code of ethics requires that an engineer pracice only in areas qualified to do so.
A board certified engineer has obtained the most rigorous credentials and experience. This certification conveys a breadth of knowledge and competence, two criteria most respected by the public we serve. Certification is governed by the Building Inspection Engineering Certification Institute (BIECI) through its own by-laws and Board of Governors. It is independent of all other organizations. The certification program is accredited by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB). It was initially sponsored and endorsed by The National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers (NABIE), an affinity group of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
Services include commercial such as Property Condition Assessments and Reserve Studies and residential such as home inspections and structural inspections. To contact Criterium Lockatong Engineers, please call 609-397-4106 located in Rosemont, NJ.
